How to buy stones abroad? As passionate and expert gemmologists, Mère & Fille offer gemology workshops at your home, your workplace or in their offices. Ideal as an activity for friends or associates, these 2-hour workshops will take you on a journey into the unique world of gemstones. During this discovery, you will learn to master the gemmologist's tools such as the magnifying glass and tweezers, touch and handle the stones while learning about the diversity of colours, sizes and purity.

Workshop 1: Precious stones During this workshop you will be introduced to the fascinating world of rubies, sapphires, emeralds and diamonds. From their sources to your hand, the many stages of these stones are illustrated and explained. What are imitations and how to detect them on your next trip? All will be revealed.

Workshop 2: Semi-precious stones This workshop, complementary to Workshop 1, will give you a first overview of the so-called semi-precious stones, though all holding their letters of nobility in the current univers of jewellery. Tanzanites, spinels and other fine stones will no longer hold any secrets for you.

Workshop 3: Diamonds During this workshop, we reveal to you the path of a diamond; from the volcano to your finger. How the stone is formed, the extraction, cut and distribution... discover the fascinating and eternal world of diamonds.

Practical details Groups are limited to a maximum of 8 people (minimum 6 participants). The workshops can be organised during the day, in the evening, as well as on weekends and are held in French or English. Price: 75 euros per person.
